Mesotrione

Mesotrione is the second triketone herbicide developed by syngenta. It is a broad-spectrum selective herbicide that can inhibit hydroxyphenylpyruvate bioxidase (HPPD) before and after sprout.

The pure product of mesotrione has a light yellow solid appearance. Melting point: 165.3 ℃ (accompanied by decomposition); Vapor pressure (20 ℃) : < 5.7 x10-6 pa; The water solubility (20 ℃) : 0.16 mg/mL

In the synthesis process of nitrosulfone, p-toluenesulfonyl chloride, p-chlorotoluene, p-nitrotoluene and so on were used as the basic raw materials, and were prepared by reduction, sulfonylation, nitrification, oxidation, chlorination, condensation and rearrangement.
